Expressive Watercolour Florals
Capture Florals with Mixed Media Elements
Studying flowers offers endless potential for artistic exploration!
This workshop aims to take watercolour techniques and combine them with additional mediums to create impressions of still life flower arrangements.
We will begin the class by working on some introductory watercolour approaches including brush techniques, colour mixing, developing a colour palette and paint application. We will experiment with alternatives for approaching your final artwork which will give the opportunity for you to select your own preferences in mediums and styles. After studying the flowers with some preliminary sketches and exercises designed to build confidence, we will have a discussion about composition and balancing the elements on the page before devising our next steps towards our final A3 artwork.
This workshop is suitable for anyone who has a love for botanicals but wants to create artwork that is creative and modern! It is suitable for beginners as well as those who are interested in shaking up their current practice with some new mediums or new ideas.
